1. Russian Homestay

Staying with a host family is a superb chance to maximise opportunities for language practice and to understand Russian culture.

REWARD guarantees that all our students will be placed with approved Russian families. The program coordinator meets each family and examines living conditions. The family must then take part in training before joining the program. Our homestays are visited by our coordinator, who assigns accommodation, and are monitored by students' feedback. Our host families have been chosen for their friendliness and the warm welcome they give to all the students.

Homestays are located in the historic centre of the city and can be from a 10-minute walk to a 10- minute ride to the school. All the homestays are conveniently located close to public transport links.

Students can select a single or, if booking with a friend, shared room. Rooms are furnished with a bed or a sofa-bed, a desk, a wardrobe or a set of drawers. Bathroom facilities are in most cases shared with the family. Light laundry, towels and bed linen are provided once a week.

As the homestay accommodation is mostly chosen to improve the language through constant communication in Russian, we ask our hosts not to speak other languages apart from Russian. But, if requested, we can place the student in a family with speakers of English, German, French or other languages.

Students can choose a homestay with either only breakfast, or half-board. A continental breakfast is usually served – cereal, toasts, yogurt or fruit, tea or coffee. Dinner usually consists of soup, a main dish of fish or meat. If you have any special dietary requirements (i.e. vegetarian or allergies) you should state your preferences in the application form.

Living in a host family of different culture is always a challenge. Please try to be tolerant and patient. For students who want to be more independent or who have very specific requirements we can offer other types of accommodation.

2. Rented Apartment

If you select this accommodation option, you will live in a standard furnished apartment for one person, with a bathroom and a kitchen. Board is not included in this option and you will have to cook your own meals. All apartments are equipped with a telephone, bed linen, and kitchen essentials (a refrigerator, a cooker, kitchenware). Apartments are located 20 - 40 minutes away from school by public transport.
